About this challenge

In Undertale's Underground, every monster leaves a fingerprint: the queen of the Ruins, the joke-telling skeleton of Snowdin, the spear-wielding captain of Waterfall and the robot who turns Hotland into a stage. The best clues are type, home area and what they actually do when pressure hits.

Each guess compares gender, type, area, occupation, group, whether they have a real fight and their canonical battle HP. Use the HP arrows to separate light sentries from route bosses and characters who never open a fight menu.

How to play Undertale DLE

Map the Underground first. Toriel and Flowey open the Ruins; Sans and Papyrus own Snowdin; Undyne and Gerson anchor Waterfall; Alphys, Mettaton and the Hotland crew lead toward New Home. A yellow group or area match already cuts the list in half.

When HP goes green or the arrow points up, you know if you are looking at a shopkeeper, a heavy boss or someone the game never puts in combat. Cross that with type — fish, skeleton, boss monster, ghost, Royal Guard dog — and the secret name gets close fast.

Clues that matter underground

Dreemurr family, Royal Guard, canine unit, MTT and the ghost family are stable multi-value cuts. Guard captain, royal scientist and show host separate headline names from vendors and students. Frisk and Chara share the human type, but only one carries LV 1 protagonist HP.

If you stall, change axis: forget the meme face for a second and ask where they work, whether they fight and whether their HP is single-digit or in the thousands. Undertale rewards people who read the map and the stats sheet.
